Vista technique and Platelet-Rich Fibrin Membrane for Treatment of Multiple Adjacent Gingival Recessions - 6 month follow-up
نویسنده
چکیده
Purpose: To do a clinical evaluation of the results of the treatment of multiple adjacent gingival recessions with VISTA technique (Vestibular Incision Subperiostal Tunnel Access) and platelet-rich fibrin membrane (PRF m). Methods and materials: The study included 30 participants (19 women and 11 men) with multiple adjacent gingival recessions on both jaws of Miller’s Class I and Class II. The surgical intervention was conducted using the VISTA technique in combination with platelet-rich fibrin membrane and the results were monitored for 6 months after the surgery. A total of 129 teeth with multiple adjacent gingival recessions were treated out of which 42 maxillary and 87 mandibular teeth. Results: The value of the gingival recession depth (GRD) on the 6 th month after the surgery was lowered from 2.94±0.54mm to 0.40±0.30mm. Keratinized gingival width (KGW) was increased from 1.20±0.85mm to 1.77±0.65mm, while the probing pocket depth (PPD) was lowered from 2.27±0.34mm to 2.08±0.24mm. The average value of the clinical attachment level (CAL) was lowered from 5.21±0.75mm to 2.45±0.42mm. The gingival thickness (GTH) was increased from 0.77±0.06mm to 0.86±0.08mm. The mean percent of root coverage (RC %) at the end of the treatment with VISTA technique + PRF m was 87.10±8.92%. Conclusions: Based on the results of our study we can get to the conclusion that the VISTA technique in combination with platelet-rich fibrin membrane can successfully be used as a treatment method of multiple gingival recessions of Miller’s Class I and Class II.

Gingival recession is clinically manifested by an apical displacement of the gingival tissues, leading to root surface exposure. It is a concern for both patients and clinician for several reasons such as root hypersensitivity, erosion, root caries, and esthetics. Recently, new techniques have been suggested for the surgical treatment of multiple adjacent recession type defects. The current cas...

The aim of this study was to evaluate and compare, clinically, the efficiency of the subepithelial connective tissue graft (SCTG) and platelet-rich fibrin (L-PRF) using the tunnel technique to cover the multiple gingival recessions on anterior teeth, in the same patient. Within the limits of this study, we conclude that both SCTG and L-PRF proved to be reliable options for the treatment of ging...
